Again: Can the Democrats Win Control of Southampton Town

I have been writing this very question for the last 3 elections and somehow the Republicans were able to always win the majority on the Southampton Town Board in the last two. But what about this year?

The conclusion form friends in both parties is that they both like their chances. Has super-Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst  (D-I) lost any of her vote getting magic? Can Linda Kabot (R) put back together the grass roots coalition that thrusted her up into power 6 years ago? It's political season now. The Republican stalwart and king vote getter Chris Nuzzi is no longer running for a Town seat and instead is taking on long time incumbent Jay Schneiderman for a County seat.

The Southampton Democrats have chose Frank Zappone and Brad Bender to try and win the majority on the Board. Democratic Town Board member Bridget Fleming is not up for re-election this year so the Democrats need to win the supervisor race and just one of the Board races to seize control of the Town.

The Republican's are running, Stanley Glinka of Hampton Bays and Jeffrey Mansfield of Bridgehampton for the Town Board. With Republican Board member James Malone not running for re-election the Republicans must win 2 out of the three races to retain control. Will the Republicans once again turn back the Democrats as they seem to be at the door of winning control via a majority on the Southampton Town Board?

(Note: The office they are running for will appear on the ballot as Town Council, but most voters call it the town board.)
