Southampton Police Log: Man Punches Out Car Window After Accident

Southampton police arrests through July 22.

Forgery

• Maybell Rodriguez, 40, of Westhampton, was arrested on July 21 after an investigation revealed that she had stolen three checks from a house she cleans in North Sea. Police said she forged the checks and deposited $1,900 into her bank account. She was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor, forgery in the second degree, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

DWI

• Charlotte Wagster, 52, of New York, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, after police received a call about an erratic driver on Noyac Road in Noyac on Wednesday at 9 p.m. Police said they found her stopped in the middle of the road with the car running near the intersection of Noyac Road and Stoveboat Road.

Menacing

• On July 20 at 2:40 p.m., police arrested and charged a 55-year-old Southampton man after he was involved in a dispute with a Jitney Bus attendant over the lack of parking in the lot on CR39 in Southampton. Police said the man threatened the Jitney worker with a baseball bat. He was charged with menacing in the second degree, a misdemeanor, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, also a misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, a violation.

Criminal Mischief

• A 53-year-old Somers, N.Y. man was charged on July 19 at 2 p.m., after police said he was involved in a car accident on CR 39 in Southampton. Police said that after the crash, the man punched out the window of the other car involved. Police charged him with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor.
