Incident Reports: $500 Stolen From Purse Left in Shopping Cart

Crimes and suspicious incidents recently reported to the Southampton Town Police Department:
Trespassing
• An employee of Shinnecock Hills Golf Course in Southampton called police on July 21 to report a man sleeping in his car on the property. The management did not press charges.

Grand Larceny
• A Bridgehampton resident told police on July 18 that she left her purse in a shopping cart in T.J. Maxx in the Bridgehampton Commons and then she turned around to grab it, it was gone. Inside the purse was $500 in cash, government documents and debit cards.

• A North Sea woman told police on July 15 that sometime between January 2012 and June, someone used her Macy’s credit card, charging over $6,800 in goods. She has since canceled the card.
• A Sagaponack man told police on July 20 that someone stole two teak planters, valued at $90 each and four chairs, valued at $200 each from his yard sometime between July 13 and July 16.
Criminal Mischief
• A Bridies Path resident in North Sea called police on July 21 to report that someone broke the front windshield of his car while it was parked in his driveway.
Burglary
• A Jennings Road resident in Southampton told police on July 20 that someone broke into his home and stole a flat screen television, valued at $1,800; and jewelry, valued at $500.
