Firefighters Battled Brush Fire in North Sea Overnight

Meanwhile, southeast Suffolk County under fire warning due to dry weather in the area.

A brush fire broke out in North Sea early Saturday morning.

The North Sea Fire Department responded, along with a brush truck from the Southampton Fire Department, to extinguish the fire on North Sea Road and Noyac Road, according to North Sea Chief William Rosko Jr. They were on scene from about 2 to 3:30 a.m., he said. 

The Southampton Volunteer Ambulance was also on scene in case there were any injuries. 

The Southampton Fire Marshal's office is investigating what caused the blaze to start, but Rosko said southeast Suffolk County is under a heavy fire threat due to dry weather.
