FLPG & SOFO - The Night Sky: Celestial Viewing

The Night Sky:  Celestial Viewing. Program Leaders: Astronomy Outreach Team of the Custer Institute, Cosponsored by: Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt (FLPG) and the South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo).  The astronomy outreach team from the Custer Institute and Observatory, Long Island’s oldest public observatory founded in 1928, will be making another visit to SoFo. The event will start with a brief presentation, with topics on astronomy, telescopes, and the celestial objects that can be seen this evening. Then, weather permitting; telescopes will be available for viewing the heavens. Light refreshments will be served. This program is for adults and children age 8 and older. Rain date Friday, July 12.  Meet at the SoFo Museum parking lot, 377 Bridgehampton Turnpike 200 yards north of the RR tracks. To make a reservation for this program, call the museum at 631-537-9735.
