Family Plans Benefit Friday for Mother With Cancer
Event at 230 Elm will help Southampton Village resident Shonda Pettaway with her medical bills.
As of Dec. 31, 2012, Shonda Pettaway, of Southampton Village, has lost her health insurance — after her cancer returned and she could no longer work.
“She’s been battling for five years,” said her son Tramar. He said she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which went into remission, but now it is back, and has spread throughout her body.
To help cover Pettaway's medical bills, her family has put together a benefit Friday at 230 Elm, with entertainment, food and raffles.
