Saks Coming Back to Southampton for 2 Days

Off 5th will have a trunk show at Stitch.

Fans of Saks Fifth Avenue who were disappointed to see the store vacate its Southampton Village space in 2010 are in luck — Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th will have a two-day trunk show in the village later this month.

Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th will be popping up at Stitch Southampton, a women’s clothing store on Nugent Street, on Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18.  According to Stitch, Saks will bring to the trunk show its designer dresses and accessories, including Judith Leiber handbags, summer shoes, cosmetics and fragrances.

The sales will be between noon and 6 p.m. both days and there will be a Saks make-up artist on hand with gifts and “surprises for everyone,” according to Stitch.

Saks Fifth Avenue, formerly located at 1 Hampton Road, was an anchor store and when it became empty it left a gape in the village's retail landscape. However, last fall Pottery Barn agreed to lease the building, which was once Town Hall; in fact, it still says the words “Southampton Town Hall” atop its pillars.

Pottery Barn is expected to open later in May.
