Greetings from the Sobornost For The World Foundation & World Village Fair Trade Market in the Hamlet Green of Hampton Bays, NY! My name is Pattye Pece and I am the President/Co-Founder of Sobornost For The World Foundation which has two missions: feeding & educating hundreds of orphans in sub-Saharan Africa and staffing with volunteers, a full retail of 100% fair trade products from over 35 countries since 2003. (all donations and profits after paying our expenses in the store are supporting the orphans in Africa) I am only one of the many who volunteer in Long Island's first 100% fair trade store which is open all year round - Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are all Suffolk County residents who wanted to make a difference in the world by alleviating some of the global poverty we hear and see worldwide, hopefully bringing some comfort to those most in need.
If you haven't visited or shopped at the World Village Fair Trade Market, we hope you will make a trip to Hampton Bays to see how much good is happening through the fair trade movement worldwide. There are many ways to help us if you are looking for a place to volunteer, but mostly, we ask you to shop fair trade because it really helps people receive better wages, keeps our environment clean and chemical-free, provides skills and resources to people who are supporting their families, thus bringing peace to our world.
