Luke Ormand, Neighbor

While I grew up in Minnesota, I have spent the last 8 years on the East End of Long Island, attending LIU Southampton and Stony Brook Universities.  I have interned for Atlantis Marine World, the Southampton Town  Trustees and at the Stony Brook Southampton Marine Science Center and am currently an Environmental Analyst for the Town of Brookhaven.  These institutions, internships and jobs have helped mold my love for nature and wildlife photography and have allowed me to spend time in some of the most beautiful places on the East End.  

I spend the majority of my time photographing birds around Long Island - particularly around the East End.  Their beauty and variation amaze me every day and there is always something new to find or see.  But, that doesn't mean I'll shy away from photography frogs, seals, foxes, flowers or bugs if the opportunity presents itself!  

I have had my images published in several Nature and Bird ID books, Networking Magazine, National Geographic Online, Cornell's All About Birds and others.  I run two other blogs which can be found here:
