The Southampton Fire District was created by the Southampton Town Board in 2003 to negotiate fire protection for theMore hamlets of Tuckahoe, Water Mill and Shinnecock Hills and the Shinnecock Indian Reservation — approximately 16 square miles. A board of commissioners negotiates a fire protection contract with the Southampton Village Board, which overseas the Southampton Fire Department. The Southampton Fire District Board of Commissioners, which is also charged with ensuring the district's hydrants and deep wells as maintained, holds public meetings on the second Thursday of the month at the Tuckahoe School.

The district includes an elementary school, the intermediate school, a high school and pre-kindergarten. The current superintendent of schools is Dr. J. Richard Boyes, Ed.D.
Southampton Youth Association

Under the slogan "Sports Build Character and Bring Us Together," the Southampton Youth Association is a nonprofit agencyMore that coordinates sports programs and summer camps exclusively for the Southampton School District. Programs are designed for children and teens 4 years old and older and geared to all skill levels. SYA summer camp takes place at Southampton Elementary School. The Reverend Marvin Dozier serves as the director of operations, and Mary Topping is president of the board of directors.
Tuckahoe School

The Tuckahoe School was built in 1938 and extensions were added on in 1958, 1988 and 1995. There are also portableMore classrooms for prekindergarten. It is the sole school in the Tuckahoe Common School District. It serves children through eighth grade. After that, parents have the option of sending their children to either Westhampton Beach High School or Southampton High School. Athletics for seventh and eighth graders are through Southampton School District, but there are also sports clubs at Tuckahoe. The current superintendent-prinicipal is Chris Dyer.
The Children's School

Located at The Southampton United Methodist Church, The Children's School has a play group, nursery school andMore pre-kindergarten. The founder and director is Kathy Bishop, wife of U.S. Congressman Tim Bishop. The school was originally located on the Southampton College campus, where Congressman Bishop was provost, but it moved to the church in 2010. Though it rents space from the church, it is not a religious preschool. A one-on-one aide for special needs students is provided by local school districts.
Road G Beach

Road G is on Meadow Lane across from the Southampton Village Helipad.

Road G is an unprotected SouthamptonMore Village beach. A village beach sticker is required to park between 9am and 6pm from the Friday before Memorial Day until the middle of September. Surfcasting, launching power boats and surfing outside of designated areas are prohibited during these times. Parking stickers are available at village hall and Coopers Beach. Stickers are free for residents, but offered at a cost for residents of the Southampton School District, Southampton Fire District and summer visitors.

Camping, alcohol bonfires, erecting tents, playing hardball, littering, unleashed animals and nudity are prohibited at all times.

There is drive-on access, but both a Southampton Village and a Southampton Town Trustees four-by-four beach driving permit are required. There's an air filling station for cars to refill their tires.
