The Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton is the home of the sovereign Shinnecock Nation, federally recognized…More since Oct. 1, 2010. It includes public businesses along Montauk Highway, but the rest of the reservation is residential and private. Only Shinnecocks and invited guests may drive into the reservation. However, every year during Labor Day weekend, the tribe holds a pow wow open to the public, with an admission fee.
