Sag Harbor Village, founded in 1707, staddles the border of Southampton Town and East Hampton Town. The village'sMore municipal building includes the clerk's office mayor's office, trustees' office, building department, treasurer, fire marshal and tax assessor.  The village board also meets at village hall, on the second floor.  The current mayor is Brian Gilbride. Village elections are held the third Thursday in June.

The Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce serves Sag Harbor Village, North Haven Village and the hamlet of Noyac. It hosts orMore sponsors several events each year to bring business to Sag Harbor, including HarborFest at the end of each summer. Membership includes a listing in the chamber's annual directory and guide, sponsored advertising, voting rights, and exposure on WLNG 92.1 FM and in The Sag Harbor Express, among other benefits. The chamber's board meets on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at Il Capuccino Ristorante. The chamber also holds dinner meeting for members and others interested in the chamber. The Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce has no office, but there is an information kiosk in the windmill near Long Wharf. The windmill is a scaled down replica of the Beebe Windmill, which is in Bridgehampton. Mail can be sent to P.O. Box 2810, Sag Harbor, NY 11963. The chamber is a member of the Hamptons Visitors Council and the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau.
North Haven Village

North Haven is a 2.7-square-mile island settled in 1665, north of Sag Harbor. Driving through North Haven is the onlyMore way to reach the South Ferry to Shelter Island. The village is served by the Southampton Town Police, Southampton Town Highway Department and Sag Harbor Fire Department. The current mayor is Laura Nolan.

The village board meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at village hall. The zoning board of appeals, planning board and Board of Architectural Review & Historic Preservation also meet at village hall. The village has a small planning department and a part-time building inspector. North Haven Village Park is located behind the hall.
