The Southampton Fire District was created by the Southampton Town Board in 2003 to negotiate fire protection for theMore hamlets of Tuckahoe, Water Mill and Shinnecock Hills and the Shinnecock Indian Reservation — approximately 16 square miles. A board of commissioners negotiates a fire protection contract with the Southampton Village Board, which overseas the Southampton Fire Department. The Southampton Fire District Board of Commissioners, which is also charged with ensuring the district's hydrants and deep wells as maintained, holds public meetings on the second Thursday of the month at the Tuckahoe School.

Southampton Town Hall is home to the supervisor's office, the town council, town trustees, town clerk, tax receiver, taxMore assessor, town attorney and comptroller. The general services, land management and long-range planning offices are also located here, as well as the board room, where meetings of the town board, planning board, zoning board of appeals and other town government bodies are held. The building was formerly Southampton Elementary School, now located next door to town hall. Southampton Town Hall is the destination for a variety of permits, including building permits, dog licenses, shellfishing and peddling permits, handicap parking permits, marriage licenses, special events permits and taxi licenses.

SEA-TV stands for Southampton Education and Government Access Television. It is supported by Cablevision franchise feesMore and airs Southampton Town, Southampton Village and Westhampton Beach Village board meetings as well as Southampton School Board meetings. The network also produces "Focus on Southampton Hospital" with Bob Chaloner, the hospital CEO. SEA-TV will air public access shows if the executive director deems that they fall under the education or government categories. SEA-TV is on Cablevision and also broadcasts a live stream online.
