The corps's service area covers approximately 48 square miles and borders to the north with Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance, the the east with Bridgehampton Fire Department, to the south with Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance and to the west with Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance.</p>
<p>Southampton Volunteer Ambulance answers nearly 800 calls each year. The corps has three advanced life support ambulances, two advanced life support first responder vehicles and two basic life support first responder vehicles. There are approximately 50 volunteer members.</p>

The department serves Bridgehampton and Sagaponack and parts of Water Mill and Wainscott. It often provides mutual aid to Southampton and Sag Harbor fire departments. The current firehouse was built in 1983. The department has a Little League field behind the firehouse. The chief is Richard Thayer and Steve Halsey if chairman of the <a href="http://bridgehamptonfiredistrict.com">board of fire commissioners</a>.
