Inspiring sounding man who certainly believes in the power of education. Good pick for a speaker.

Again, K, your attitude perfectly reflects why so many in the community are not involved with this…Read More effort. Why so many have simply thrown their hands up in disgust at the arrogance and myopia.
Your continued condescension says much more about this process than any impossible-to-decipher $70K study filled with gibberish. I no longer have children at Tuckahoe, but I remember very well when all of the problem's started and I know that the school's problems began long before the recession and declining assessments.
For years the school has suffered from mismanagement and a blatant disregard for the concerns of the community, parents and non-parents alike. Education is an investment, not an expense and any study that focuses solely on expense (which this has been from the very beginning) does a great disservice to this community and its kids.
You are free to continue your unctuous dismissal of those who do not share your opinion, but your invective dripping arrogance will not help you achieve your predetermined goals.

It is amazing that you feel so confident in your ability to speak to the study and the effort having…Read More not been a party to one iota of it except to criticize from an anonymous seat in your home. It is tough to take your vast assertions seriously when you explain that a the study is impossible for you to decipher. You see, the study has not yet been released, thereby making very difficult to decipher. So, your frustration at not being able to decipher a study that hasn't been released yet is easily understandable. Again, thank you from the bottom of my hear for you feedback. I have faith that when the study is actually released only then will you be able to decipher it. To the extent you have trouble AFTER it has been released, there are many avenues for you to gain the knowledge that so eludes you. You haven't really explained what you are upset about but I am sorry you are so angry. Nobody is out to get you.

"Education is an investment, not an expense" You nailed it, Marybeth. Seems like a lot…Read More of people have personal agendas that conflict with that common sense idea.
By the way, K, there is a link in this article to a reorganization "what if" that says absolutely nothing but presents a lot of busy work. Are you spearheading this plan to place these kids in an underperforming school district? Seems to me like you are taking this quite personally when perhaps you should be less concerned with your own "heavy lifting" and more concerned with what others think, even if they did not choose to sit in the same room with you.
I would never vote to send my kids to a mediocre school, regardless of how low my taxes went. This whole exercise is about SH school district attempting to rationalize the expansion of their school. Seems to me there is a hell of a lot of conflict of interest with those involved.
If K's attitude is evidence of how these "heavy lifters" feel about community input you can see why folks are so fed up and frustrated. This sanctimonious bs taints this entire process.

Only 562 voters in that entire district! That means that even parents could not be bothered to go…Read More out and vote for their children's school. Pathetic turn out.

I AGREE, 562 RESIDENTS CAME OUT TO VOTE. NOT ONLY IS IT RIDICULOUS IT IS PATHETIC. I DON'T EVER WANT…Read More TO HEAR ANYONE COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW HIGH THEIR TAXES ARE. TWO THIRDS OF YOUR TAXES GO TOWARDS THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. MY QUESTION TO THE COMPLAINERS WOULD BE, DID YOU VOTE.
