Good job getting the potential killers off the road. These stats might not impress everyone and theRead More pay might seem high, but if the life they saved was one of your children it was worth every penny.

@ Paul: Yes, you make a valid point, but I have a problem with the words "potentialRead More killers". EVERYONE is a "potential killer" when behind the wheel of a car, even you. Everyone gets distracted from time to time when driving: playing with the radio, GPS, adjusting the mirrors, turning on/off wipers/lights, yelling/slapping those kids in the back seat, picking your nose and yes, even looking down at the speedometer or gauges. At that split second, you Paul, are a "POTENTIAL KILLER". And I haven't even mentioned the ones you can be cited for.

So, a K-9 vest costs $950? That's like 5x the amount of a normal bulletproof vest from Galls!
Lyn Dimon April 23, 2014 at 05:05 pm
To Richie P.'s comment: Apparently, Regency Police Supply has body armor ranging in price from 650Read More to 1800 and that is a product that is MASS MADE. I'm sure the dog's vest had to be custom made to fit his size and breed requirements. You are very naive if you think comparing a product sold by Galls to millions vs. a custom made to order vest is the same. Its like comparing a rack suit at the department store to one made in Italy by a revered designer.

The following comments are not meant to be construed as being an advocate for teen /under agedRead More drinking, just a personal observation: 1-When I was in HS in the 70s kids aged 13-18 were drinking in their own homes or in parks while parents were out for the eve or weekend. Nothing has changed much there, IMO. 2- my mid + 20 something kids have told me stories of parties in HS where the parents were not only home, but would buy beer & hard liquor (multiple flavored vodkas) for huge parties for their kids & their friends. They would sometimes party with the under aged teens as well. ( not one of my kids were "allowed" to drink before 21 yrs old. Nor in my home, nor at family functions. I wasn't with them every moment of the day to enforce this.) This is nothing new & if you think it is you are delusional. There are good & bad parenting styles. 3- I was once shown Facebook pictures of a 16 yr old local boy loading a few cases of beer onto a party bus for Jr Prom, using a dolly, so tell me that the bus driver was unaware. Perhaps stiffer penalties are needed for the bus drivers, to include the bus company and check ladies purses for drugs & booze smuggled in. Again, some parents are real a------- when it comes to this but some of us are responsible and teach their kids hoping & praying that they do the right thing despite peer pressure. 4- all of my children use taxi service, designated drivers or the train when they wish to drink legally (mid to upper 20s). They were taught at an early age never to get into a car with anyone they felt may have been impaired and so far have called me on 2 occasions to come get them at 2 or 3 am when this was so. God willing they will stay safe. Parents are the first line of defense, but stiffer laws are needed for bus companies & idiot parents who think it's a right of passage. Talk to your local elected officials!

I want to root for the police, I really do; but when some a-hole flies by me, nearly hits my car orRead More is tailgating and I pass a cop who does NOTHING... It really diminishes my faith. They [not all but some] pull people over for bullshit and pull the power trip on innocent individuals who truly made mistakes or non-threatening/harmful offenses. But where the hell are they when the real risks are on the road??? How about they keep their patrols going for the crappy drivers EVERYDAY, and not just some appointed safety weeks.

James Barrett may have a point, they were being safeish. Imagine if they rented vans or somethingRead More and were driving themselves under the influence? It isn't cheap to rent a coach bus and I have to believe parents put up the money for this. The parents should be held accountable first if they paid for it and not accompanying the children. Parents should also be held more accountable for the actions of children 21 and younger. Many people bring children into this world and assume no responsibility, this must change.
John Roberson April 24, 2014 at 12:04 am
and none of the teens were charged? That is outrageous. The little darlings probably brought theirRead More own booze on to the bus and drank and then trashed the bus and the driver is the scapegoat. Of course, the driver should never have let these children on the bus in the first place, but maybe they bribed him or maybe they threatened him or his family. No telling what kids will do today to get what they want.
Vinny April 24, 2014 at 10:05 pm
When is everyone going to take responsibility for their own actions. Let's also blame the gasRead More station attendant who filled up the bus with gas. He should have been more responsible! This is 100 percent the fault of the parents who can't say no to anything kids want to do

Archie Bunker- I think you need to take a refresher math course. They wanted to sell the stock inRead More 2010, and contacted the police in 2011. Not sure how your math turned that into "2 years to report it" Taking into account that different years can be as little as one day apart, and I'm sure they spent some time waiting for the nonexistent check to arrive, and trying to get in touch with him. So the only remarkable thing about that is your math skills, or lack of.

@Susan Yes I can fill in gaps and NEW STUFF going on in the Chris Boutin case very well for you. IfRead More anyone cares has been following his case (hearings, motions, bail etc) very easily done on webcrims they would be up to date, but it appears most have not so i will bring everyone up to speed. Christopher was picked up and charges with 3 counts of a controlled sale ( Heroin ) from his driveway to alleged undercover police. Chances are these undercover police they speak of was simply a customer who got pulled over leaving the home of MR Boutin as police watched, They was given two Options. Go to jail or work with them to take down MR Boutin with hard evidence they needed and be there RAT they needed or as i will continue to reefer to him as there (CI) Aka confidential informant. Chris was booked with a 2 misdemeanor charges of possession and 3 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree schedule 1 dangerous drug. The Judge set his bail at 20k cash or 40K bond. He remained in custody. His next hearing the Judge ordered his bail set to 40k cash or 40k bond, He remained in custody. Around march 5th while Chris was still in police custody/county jail a NEW 4th felony charge, Possession of a schedule 1 dangerous drug with intent to sell and a judge ordered his bail set to 50k cash, 50k bond. It also mention's a Grand Jury in his webcrims report a more then once. From looking over the fact's in this one would come to believe another Agency that was not present during the arrest, possibly the DEA or DRUG TASK FORCE had pending charges of a past sale of heroin since new charges were added on while in custody during one of his court dates. It would also appear buy the mention of a grand jury that Chris has not accepted or most likely the prosecutor has not yet offered a plea bargain for a lighter sentence. It's extremely possible since another felony charge was added there could be more charges on-going that he does not know about yet, and this is why no plea-agreements have been made. I looked up his past criminal history in the state of NY to see if this was his first offense or not. It shows a misdemeanor arrest of Paraphernalia possession of Hypodermic syringes or needles from a few years back but does not show charges if there was any or if the case was thrown out. It looks like he is facing 8 to 15 years upstate NY, and with good behavior will be out in 5 or 6. PS as in the Boutin Case, Confidential Informant's (who only have to testify in a trial, but there name will appear on Chris's paperwork for him to see eventually ) undercover police usually is slang for it was a busted customer who used a police issued video and voice recording device placed in the car to do 3 or 4 buys. They will not tell the public, This way other dealer's do not read about all the busted customers used to put charges on drug dealers. A way to keep them out of the Loop and in the dark so to say. The same reason the words phone tap are not often printed in articles. So they think they don't use them around here. The word's you do not hear somebody does not want you to hear for a reason, This way people have no idea it happens every day to make drug bust's or else cases wont hold up in court.. All Tools, Tricks, lies and deceit used buy the police since the 70's.

My all time favorite. Police arrest 2 best friends for what-ever the case might be, Then put eachRead More friend in separate rooms telling one friend his buddy is talking up a storm about him, confessed its him, or about to tell us everything, So now is his last chance to do the right thing and be the only one out of two who are going home tonight when that door close's behind us, if not your friend will be the one to leave. So the one friend being pressured hard knows the game's police play so he sits there saying to himself over and over my best friend would never rat me out or Lie and say it was me (when hes not guilty). Eventually hours and hours later your starving and threw one way glass they ask your friend to move rooms and make sure he sees his best friend walk buy eating a bag of McDonald's laughing as the cops tell him a joke about someone else there. So he gets angry and when the police come back in he talks and tells all about his friend. They Won. Meanwhile all they did was tell his friend that they both are not in any trouble and each are allowed diner while they process them before both go home, and offer to pick him up some food when there done eating at McDonald's so his buddy was hungry and all he did was say yes. Meanwhile they just got his best friend to talk with this simple $6 bag of fast food diversion.

Watched the episode of TC's visit to the jail last night as it aired on tv......I am no theologianRead More nor an expert in the battle between the good and the evil but I fail to see how this evil described by the "expert" above controls what she feels and says. In fact 1 inmate was so at peace with herself and also stated it was time to begin making good decisions. I already spoke to Henry Powderly about Ann and Bill using a fake name to attack me. He said he would research it. So, there is more to the story, Elizabeth. Again, check caller id from the person(s) calling you, and you will see that I am correct. You have it reversed. I am the one being continually stalked by my sister and her husband, using the fake name, "Gabe Gonsalves."
Martha Nassauer April 15, 2014 at 01:03 am
Gabe/Bill, you can insult me all you want, I am not the judge of you guys. But insulting the BeingRead More who provides us with moral laws to live by through His Word is a different story. I relayed a few of these standards relating to the topic of this news story. His Word defines His expectations of certain practices, in this case, "mediumship," or communicating with the dead. He laid down His "rules," I merely referenced them. When you discount and deny these truths, you can remember Psalm 94:16, "Who will stand up for me against evildoers? Who will take his stand for me against those who do wickedness?" Or, Matthew 10:32, "Therefore, everyone who acknowledges Me before men and confesses Me [out of a state of oneness with Me], I will also acknowledge him before My Father Who is in heaven and confess [that I am abiding in] him." When you called my acknowledgment of His truth a "rant," you chose the side to deny His truths, thereby denying Him. You can mock, criticize, attack, and say whatever you want about me. Just remember that in doing so, you are taking enormous spiritual risks with your own soul, and those of your family as you are the "head of household," according to your Christian tradition (as you married in the Catholic church I am guessing you are still a Christian).
