I was so sad to hear the news about Ed- we had not heard that he was sick. My sister and I ownedRead More the Health Food Store in Montauk for 17 years and shared many a laugh with Ed. When I had my first baby 16 years ago he bought me a gift- a little outfit with Dancing Bears on it. I remember being so blown away that "Ed The Jitney Guy" had bought me a gift for the baby. He was so kind, so funny, and had a great taste in music. We had many a conversation with Ed at the counter. I'm thinking (if my memory serves me) that he was a tea drinker and not a coffee drinker? Hmmm. The few times I ride the Jitney I would always hope that Ed would be our driver. Sooooo sad to know that he is not here anymore. Thoughts and prayers for his wife, daughter, mom and sister. (nikki I left you a facebook message too, not sure if you would get it).
