The Nature Conservancy's Mashomack Preserve on Shelter Island is a vital part of the preservation and restoration of the Peconic Bay and Long Island's natural heritage. For a suggested donation of $2 adult and $1 child, guests can hike over 20 miles of marked trails, be inspired by breathtaking views, and enjoy nature while supporting a great cause. The Harman Hawkins Visitor Center offers exhibits, information and a small selection of nature gifts, as well as nature programs and guided hikes throughout the year. Call the Preserve office for information.
