Owned and operated by Elizabeth Main, the Mainstay is located at a Southampton home which was built in 1850. Originally built as a small country store, it was later expanded into a seventeen-room house. The ambiance of the inn is intended to bring guests back to the easy country elegance of old Southampton. The inn is located on a beautifully landscaped lot at the corner of Bishops' Lane and Hill Street, approximately halfway between Jobs Lane and the Reservation.
