The only hospital on the South Fork, Southampton Hospital has been located in the village of Southampton since its founding in 1909. It has a state-of-the-art maternity center and breast health center. The hospital also has satellite offices including laboratory and radiology services in East Hampton and Hampton Bays; physical therapy and rehab in Westhampton Beach; primary care offices in Southampton, Westhampton Beach, Wainscott, and Sag Harbor; the Shinnecock Indian Health Clinic; the Center for Prenatal Care in Greenport; and the David E. Rogers, MD Center for HIV/AIDS Care. The hospital's summer party has been a Southampton tradition since 1958, attracting community leaders, celebrities and other supporters of the Southampton Hospital's mission to provide high quality heath care services to the community. The hospital is certified by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, a New York State designated stroke center, American College of Radiology accredited in breast imaging, MRI, CT, Ultrasound and nuclear medicine, and the majority of physicians are board-certified in their specialty. The hospital also trains doctors in its Osteopathic Medical Education Program.
