Southampton Fire Department Windmill Lane Station

The Southampton Fire Department is headquartered on Windmill Lane in Southampton Village. It is a volunteer department serving Southampton Village and the Southampton Fire District, which includes the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, and the hamlets of Tuckahoe, Water Mill and Shinnecock Hills. The department includes several companies and specialty teams, including Agawam Hose, Agawam Engine, Southampton Hose, fire police, hook and ladder, a rescue squad, water rescue team, rapid intervention team and a junior firefighter corps. The department has two substations, one on Hampton Road and the Shinnecock substation on the corner of St. Andrews Road and and Montauk Highway, across the highway from the Shinnecock Indian Reservation.
