Southampton Elementary School

Southampton Elementary School had a major renovation in 2009 that also included an extension, which gave the school more classrooms and its first elevator. The extra space also allowed the prekindergarten to move from rented space at the First Presbyterian Church of Southampton to the elementary school building. The building was originally Southampton High School, and the old elementary school is now Southampton Town Hall next door. The elementary school has a dual language program in which children, starting in kindergarten, learn all of their subjects in both English and Spanish, on alternate days. By the time they reach middle school, students are nearly fluent in both languages.
