<p>The Rogers Memorial Library has been in its current location on Coopers Farm Road since 2000, when it moved from its original building on the corner of Jobs Lane and Main Street. The library serves the Southampton and Tuckahoe school districts, with more than 210,000 visits each year. There are 12,709 registered borrowers and in 2009 the library circulated 273,806 items.</p>
<p>Suffolk County residents from outside the Rogers Library district may borrow materials from Rogers using a card from any library participaring in the Suffolk Cooperative Library System. Rogers features a vast collection of reference materials, 35 public computers, WiFi, a young adult room, quiet reading and study areas and a meeting room for special events, lectures and readings. Programs offered through the Family Department aim to foster early learning, literacy and langauge development and to enchance socialization in children. Research sources are available through <a href="http://live-brary.com">Live-brary.com</a>, a gateway to over 80 online resources, including both popular and academic works available through a cooperative project throughout public libraries in Suffolk. </p> <p>The library also houses The Long Island Collection, including recorded interviews with  local figures and focusing on the history and culture and Southampton and surrounding towns. The library also specializes in town records, genealogy, the history and culture of the Shinnecocks and the library's own history. The library also has a foundation, The Rogers Memorial Library Foundation, whose mission is to enhance the quality of the library's services to the community by securing resources to support library programs and projects not normally met by public funding. </p> <p>The library is a member of Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center, to allow patrons to search for grants. Rogers has 122,362 books and 14, 341 DVDs.</p>
