Herodotus Damianos, owner of Pindar Vineyards in Peconic and one of the architects of the Long Island wine industry, founded Duck Walk Vineyards in Watermill –part of Southampton– in 1994. The chateau-style building is where all the wine is produced, and has a small tasting room that still attracts crowds on the South Fork. In 2007, a Duck Walk tasting room opened on Route 48 in Southold, providing another venue for tastings of such Duck Walk staples as Southampton White and Blueberry Port. Duck Walk also operates a retail wine store in Port Jefferson.
