MONDAY

Philosophy with Susan Pashman: At Hampton Library at 3 p.m., discuss The History of Western Thought beginning with pre-Socratic philosophers, Plato and Aristotle, and Roman thinkers such as the Stoics and Epicureans, and time permitting, Medieval philosophers; St. Anselm, St. Thomas, St. Augustine, and Arab thinkers such as Avicenna and Averroes. You'll examine such questions as "What is moral conduct?", "What is Truth?" "What is Reality?" "What is Justice?"

Choral Society of the Hamptons Auditions: The Choral Society of the Hamptons will hold auditions on September 30, and prospective new members are invited to sit in at the first rehearsal this fall at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church at 7:30 p.m.

TUESDAY

Sweet, Sticky, Delicious Candy Apple Making: Fall is here and with fall comes one of our favorite fruits, apples. Hampton Library is going to hold an opportunity for kids to create a candied apple at 3:30 p.m.

Village Board: The Southampton Village Board will hold a work session at 5 p.m.

Town Board: The Southampton Town Board will meet at 6 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

Hamptons Dancers AARP Community Group Inaugural Gathering: Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Southampton is hosting this event for those over 40. At 2 p.m., you'll have an opportunity to speak to AARP staff and local officials, Legis. Jay Schneiderman, Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst. The event is free and free of charge. Light refreshments will be served. RSVP.

Surfrider Foundation ELI Chapter Meeting: A Surfrider meeting will be held at Mercado restaurant in Bridgehampton at 6:30 p.m.

Conservation Board: The board will meet on the second floor in the People's Meeting Room at 7 p.m.

Noyac CAC: The Noyac Citizens Advisory Committee will meet in the Noyac schoolhouse at 7 p.m.

Village ARB: The Southampton Village ARB will meet at 7 p.m.

THURSDAY

Town Board: The Southampton Town Board will meet at 10 a.m.

Planning Board: The Southampton Town Planning Board will meet at 1 p.m. Public hearings are held at 7 p.m.

ZBA: The Southampton Village ZBA will meet at 7:30 p.m.

FRIDAY

Art Exhibition: An art exhibit featuring the works of Charles "Chas" Addams, the beloved cartoonist who created The Addams Family characters, will be shown at the Southampton Center, starting Friday and run through Nov. 3. An opening reception will be held on Saturday.

SeptemberFest Kick-Off Party: Southampton SeptemberFest weekend starts Friday with a concert by the Lone Sharks at 6:30 p.m. Sample gourmet treats from some food trucks and enjoy craft beer and wine under the tent at Lake Agawam. Proceeds raised help fund Southampton SeptemberFest and provide college scholarships for local students. For a full schedule, click here.

15th Annual Celebration of the Long Pond Greenbelt
: Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt, the South Fork Natural History Museum, and the Peconic Land Trust invite the whole family to enjoy and celebrate the beautiful fall colors of the Greenbelt at the SoFo Natural History Museum in Bridgehampton. The day will include games, crafts, and hikes, starting at 10 a.m. Take a migratory bird walk with naturalist, birder, and published author John Turner, a reptile hike with “Snake-Man” Chris Chapin, enjoy a nature puppet show with Goat on a Boat, meet live animals from the Quogue Wildlife Refuge and more. Free for all.

East End SEPTO Family Fun Fair: This is a fun family day at the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy a petting zoo, bounce house, obstacle course, games, face painting, prizes, dunk tank, great food, music, chinese auction at 11 a.m.

Art Exhibition: A reception for an art exhibit featuring the works of Charles "Chas" Addams, the beloved cartoonist who created The Addams Family characters, will be held at 6 to 8 p.m. at the Southampton Center. RSVP.

Animation Master: Academy Award-winning animator and historian John Canemaker brings Windsor McCay's life and work back into the spotlight in an entertaining, interactive multimedia show at the Southampton Center that includes four of McCay's surviving films: Little Nemo (1911); How a Mosquito Operates (1912); Gertie the Dinosaur (1914); and The Sinking of the Lusitania (1918). The event will be held at 4:30 p.m.

SUNDAY

Southampton SeptemberFest "Art In The Park": Make the most of SeptemberFest weekend at “Art in the Park,” starting at 11 a.m. This unique exhibition showcases work by some of finest visual artists on the east end of Long Island — from Remsenburg to Montauk and Calverton to Orient Point. Also, have a glass of local wine or craft beer and sample freshly prepared food from some of the Hampton’s most loved restaurants and cafes while live jazz is performed nearby.
