Coming Up: Veterans Day, 'Downton Abbey' Style, and Sag Harbor Bond Vote

Take a look ahead at what's in store for the week:
MONDAY -- Veterans Day
Veterans Day Parade: Over in Sag Harbor, residents will celebrate those who defended against the British troops attempt to invade the village during the War of 1812, 200 years ago. First, the annual Veterans Day parade will be held, starting at the Civil War Monument down Main Street and onto Bay Street, at 9 a.m. A gathering will follow at the Chelberg-Battle Post of the American Legion on Bay Street. Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. will present a proclamation honoring Sag Harbor’s part in War of 1812.
Veterans Day Service: A parade will be held at 10:45 a.m. from the First Presbyterian Church in Southampton, down Jobs Lane, to Agawam Park. All veterans are invited to march and participate in the ceremony at the park, which begins at 11 a.m. All veterans and their families are invited to the Veterans Memorial Hall for refreshments immediately following the service.
FLPG Monthly Meeting: The Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt will hold their monthly meeting at Dayton/Dodds House in Bridgehampton at 6 p.m.
TUESDAY
Town Board: The Southampton Town Board will meet at Town Hall at 1 p.m.
Learn to Be Tobacco Free 6 Week Series: On Tuesdays at the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton, starting Nov. 12, get a jump start on your New Year's Resolution to stop smoking by attending this program offered by the Suffolk County Office of Health Education based on the CDC's Clinical Practice Guidelines for treating nicotine dependence.
The Changing Role of Women in the Military: In commemoration of Veterans Day, the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons will hold a program the following day on “The Changing Role of Women in the Military: Viet Nam to Gulf War and Beyond" at the Hampton Bays Library at 7 p.m.
WEDNESDAY
Bond Propositions Vote: Sag Harbor School District Voters will go to the polls on Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Voting takes place in the Pierson gymnasium.
Licensing Review Board: The Southampton Town Licensing Review Board will meet at Town Hall at 9 a.m.
Transportation Commission: The Southampton Town Transportation Commission will meet in the lower level meeting room at 3 p.m.
Ladies Night Out with the Children's Museum of the East End: This event, which will be held at East Hampton Grill from 6 to 8 p.m. Purchase your ticket online at www.cmee.org.
Master LaBlast Class with Dancing with the Stars Pro: LaBalst Master Class comes to Hamptons Dance Center at Southampton and helps raise funding for the new Southampton AARP Community Group. Join in on the fun as "Dancing with the Stars" fan favorite, fitness expert and world champion Louis van Amstel at 6:15 p.m. Price: $30 per person.
Tango Lessons: Tango lessons by Nella at Mercardo restaurant in Bridgehampton — room for six more people — at 7:30 p.m. Price: $60 per person for four lessons, $100 per couple.
ARB: The Southampton Village Architectural Review Board will meet at 7 p.m.
THURSDAY
Town Board Work Session: The Southampton Town Board will hold a work session at Town Hall at 10 a.m.
LaBlast Fitness Instructor Certification: Become an instructor with Louis van Amstel at the Hamptons Dance Center in Southampton at 11 a.m. Price: $319
The Rise and Fall of Southampton College: Dr. John Strong will give a lecture and sign copies of his new book "Running on Empty: The Rise and Fall of Southampton College, 1963-2005," at the Rogers Mansion at 2 pm. The lecture will trace the history of Southampton College from 1963 to 2006 when it closed. The focus will be on two themes: the growth and development of a unique campus community in the heart of the Hamptons and the factors which eventually led to its closing.
Special Olympics Unified Basketball Game & Food/Clothing Drive: The Southampton Mariners and the Hampton Bays Baymen will be hosting a Unified Basketball Game and Unified Food and Winter Coat Drive to benefit families in the Southampton and Hampton Bays Communities on Thursday at Southampton High School. The opening ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. and games will begin at 5:15 p.m. Teams will consist of two Special Olympics Athletes and three Unified Partners.
Village Board: The Southampton Village Board will meet at Village Hall at 6 p.m.
Pierson High School's Fall Play: Pierson High School presents Billy St. John's A Murderer Among Us, a comedic murder mystery, a hilarious whodunit, a riotous romp, for the whole family. Also Friday and Saturday. Begins at 7 p.m. Price: $5
Healthcare Reform Discussion: Mary Dewar, president of the Long Island Coalition for a National Heath Plan, will speak regarding health care reform at Hampton Library in Bridgehampton at 7 p.m.
Duck and Red Wine Dinner: Almond in Bridgehampton presents a Duck and Red Wine Dinner at 7 p.m. The special menu will feature wines by Channing Daughters Winery and Paumanok Vineyards. Price: $75
Planning Board: The Southampton Town Planning Board will meet at Town Hall at 1 p.m., followed by public hearings at 7 p.m.ARB: The Sagaponack Village Architectural and Historic Review Board meets on the 3rd Friday of the month at 3:30 p.m.
FRIDAY
The Button Tree: For children of all ages at the Hampton Library at 4 p.m. Turn a white canvas into a wonderful work of art using sticks and buttons.

SATURDAY
Old Farm Road Cleanup: Help clean up the roadside along Friend of the Long Pond Greenbelt's adopted road at 8 a.m. Meet at Poxabogue Park on Old Farm Road in Sagaponack. Bring gloves, bags provided.
Downton Abbey Style in Southampton: An exhibit at Rogers Mansion documents the fashions, activities and lifestyle of this community between 1900 and 1920 that changed Southampton forever. The museum has a large collection of women’s gowns that were donated by Southampton’s Summer Colony residents who were also members of high society in New York City. The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Price: $4 for non-members, members free and children 17 and under.
AIA Peconic Exhibit @ Southampton Center: AIA Peconic to Display Projects and Art at Southampton Center. The Daniel J. Rowen Memorial Awards Program will be awarded at 5:30 p.m. The exhibit runs until Dec. 1.
Daniel Gonzalez Photo Exhibition: An exhibition at Salon Xavier in Sag Harbor opens Saturday, with opening reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

SUNDAY
Full Frost Moon Hike: Cosponsored by Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt and the South Fork Natural History Museum, the hike will start at 6 p.m. Refreshments under the moonshine afterwards in Bridgehampton. Meet at the SoFo Museum parking lot in Bridgehampton.
