Coming Up: Southampton Shop Hop, Hamptons Take 2 Film Festival

MONDAY

Trustees Meeting: The Southampton Town Trustees will meet in the Meeting Room at Southampton Town Hall at 1 p.m.

Planning Board: The Southampton Village Planning Board will meet at Village Hall at 5:30 p.m.

TUESDAY

Architectural Review Board: The Southampton Town ARB will meet in the town board meeting room at Southampton Town Hall at 10 a.m.

Eighth Artists & Writers Night: Almond announces the eighth monthly “Artists & Writers Night” hosted by musical performance artist Cynthia Hopkins on at 7 p.m. A family style three-course menu created by executive chef Jason Weiner will be served. Reservations are required. Price: The cost is $40 in advance and $45 at the door with a glass of local wine or craft beer, tax and gratuity.

Southampton-Tuckahoe-Shinnecock Hills CAC: The Southampton-Tuckahoe-Shinnecock Hills Citizens Advisory Committee will meet at Tuckahoe School at 7 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

Conservation Board: The Southampton Town Conservation Board will meet at Town Hall at 7 p.m.

THURSDAY

Town Board Work Session: The Southampton Town Board will meet at Town Hall at 10 a.m.

AIDS - Then and Now: Southampton Hospital will recognize World AIDS Day on Dec. 5 at the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor. A panel discussion with guest speakers will begin at 5 p.m., followed by a cash bar reception with light fare at 6 p.m., and film screening of David France’s "How to Survive a Plague" at 7 p.m. While you’re there, enter the raffle for a free massage at The Ed & Phyllis Davis Wellness Institute at Southampton Hospital and buy a discounted copy of The AIDS Generation: Stories of Survival and Resilience. The evening is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.

Planning Commission Public Meeting: The Southampton Village Planning Commission will meet at Village Hall 5:30 p.m.

Baking Rugelach: Fill your cookie tins (two dozen cookies) with a real treat this holiday season at a class at Rogers Mansion in Southampton. Deborah Lukasik will be teaching. Starts at 6:30 p.m. Price: $25 Members, $35 Non-Members (includes supplies).

Zoning Board of Appeals: The Southampton Town ZBA will meet in the Town Board meeting room at Southampton Town Hall at 7 p.m.

Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival: The sixth annual Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival showcases 22 films from Friday through Sunday at Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, with Q&As after every film, and Audience Award. Check the calendar for screening times.

Southampton Shop Hop: Shop in the Village of Southampton! Participating merchants will be extending their business hours from 6 to 8 p.m. About 5 to 10 percent of proceeds from participating merchants will benefit the Southampton Center, whose mission is “to restore and renovate this historic landmark for future generations while serving as a hub to strengthen arts and culture for our entire community.” Participating restaurants will offer specials to customers who show a valid receipt of purchase from a participating merchant. Participating accommodations will offer special rates for this Friday night stay.

Oyster and Wine Pairing Dinner at Fresh Hamptons: Fresh Hamptons will host a special oyster and wine pairing dinner at 7 p.m. featuring Howard Pickerell’s Pride Oysters and Paumanok Vineyards. The six-course dinner costs $95 per person, plus tax and 20 percent gratuity. Paumanok Wine Club and Fresh Hamptons Rewards members both receive a discounted price of $85 plus tax and 20 percent gratuity. Reservations are required.

The Nutcracker: Presented by The Conservatory of Ballet and Danse Arts, catch a performance of The Nutcracker at Southampton High School at 7 p.m. Performances dedicated to Kevin Cancellieri. Partial proceeds will go to establishing a dance scholarship in his name. Price: Adults $15, seniors 60+ $10, and children under 2 are free. All seating reserved.
The Holiday Spectacular: Our Fabulous Variety Show for the third annual Holiday Spectacular, featuring show stopping dance numbers, holiday favorites and even Santa Claus on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Guild Hall in East Hampton. Meet Santa from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. Hosted by John Mingione from 106.1 WBLI with radio supporting radio as proceeds from the event will benefit 88.3 WPPB.

SATURDAY

Hearthside Cheer: Celebrate the pleasures of the holiday season at the Captain Albert Rogers Mansion built in 1843 by a successful whaling merchant. The Greek Revival Mansion will be filled with bountiful hors d'oeuvres, sumptuous sweets and an open bar at 5:30 p.m. The Music Room will be filled with holiday cheer with a piano player playing contemporary and traditional holiday songs on a baby grand piano. The parlors and sitting rooms will be festooned with garlands of fresh winter greens and flowers. Colorful antique holiday decorations can be seen on the many trees that decorate the many reception rooms in the Mansion. Price: $50 in-advance, $60 at the door.

Harbor Bells Christmas Concert: Harbor Bells, an English Hand Bell Choir, will hold an annual Christmas concert at St. Andrew's Church in Sag Harbor at 4 p.m. The choir always collects canned goods for the local food pantries and gives a donation to the various pantries to give back to the community.
