Coming Up: School Merger Vote Tuesday, Bridgehampton Museum Benefit Saturday

This week, there is an important straw vote in Southampton and Tuckahoe school districts on whether to merge the districts. Check out what else is on our calendar. If your event isn't listed, make sure to put it on the calendar.

MONDAY

Spaghetti Dinner: The Southampton High School Outing Club is sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner in the high school cafeteria to raise funds to help support their trips. Take-out available. Dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, beverage, and dessert. Starts at 5:30 p.m. Price: $10 per ticket.

Planning Board: The Southampton Village Planning Board will hold a work session at Village Hall at 5:30 p.m.

TUESDAY

Vote: The Southampton and Tuckahoe School Districts will hold a straw vote on merging the two districts. Voting takes place in each district from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Watermill Center Fall 2013 Tours: The Watermill Center invites the public to explore Robert Wilson's arts haven in the Hamptons. Set amongst working artists-in-residence, walking tours of The Watermill Center include the building, grounds, gardens, Watermill Center Collection, and Study Library, starting at 5 p.m. Suggested donation is $10 per person.

Hypnosis Event - Quit Smoking For Good: Albert R O’Connell III, a certified hypnotist, will offer this for non-smokers at the Ed & Phyllis Davis Wellness Institute from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m.

CAC:
The Water Mill Citizens Advisory Committee meets for its monthly meeting at the Water Mill Community House at 7 p.m.

Pierson Auditorium Renovation Meeting: An informational meeting about the auditorium will be held at 7 p.m. There will be a short presentation about the substandard conditions and deficiencies of the existing space and a presentation of the schematic design for the new space. This meeting is open to all members of the Sag Harbor Community and will be held in the Pierson MS/HS Auditorium.

WEDNESDAY

Spin for the Cure: Evolution Fitness in Southampton is hosting a spin class to benefit the Coalition for Women’s Cancers at the Southampton Hospital and the Evo-Fit Scholarship Fund. It’s a 90 minutes class with four spinning instructors. Starts at 5:30 p.m. Price: $30 per bike. Reservations required. Note: Don't have to spin to donate.

Candle Magic for Positive Intentions: Embrace the spirit of Halloween as Hampton Library in Bridgehampton explores methods of using candles and positive intent to manifest your desires for prosperity, love, success, and creativity. Starts at 6 p.m.

Alex & Ani's Charity by Design to benefit The Retreat: You're invited to a Charmed by Charity event at Alex & Ani in Southampton, from 6 to 8 p.m., to benefit The Retreat with 15 percent of all sales going to The Retreat, the only domestic violence agency on the East End.

East End College Athletics Night:
Southampton High School hosts a panel of local college coaches as well as parents and players who have gone through recruiting process. Begins at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

CAC:
The Noyac Citizens Advisory Committee will meet at 7 p.m. in the Noayc schoolhouse.

THURSDAY

Halloween

Town Board: The Southampton Town Board meets at Town Hall for a work session at 10 a.m.

FRIDAY

Dia de los Muertos - Sugar Skulls: In celebration of Dia de los Muertos, the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton will be create sugar skulls, the traditional folk art from Southern Mexico at 4 p.m. For ages 8 to 12 years old.

SATURDAY

Great Hamptons Road Rally: Jim Shelly & Georgica Services are organizing the 'Great Hamptons Road Rally' in memory of fellow rally enthusiast Jon Auerbach.
The Rally, a 120-mile course that will take approximately 4.5 hours to complete, starts and ends at the Hayground School in Bridgehampton. Open to Sports Cars of any age, the vehicle must be street legal. Open to the public from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Price: $125 entry fee, entries are limited.

Spiritual Recovery Half-Day Retreat: At Joshua's Place in Southampton. Price: $25 per person.

Free Kaplan SAT/ACT Prep Class: Held at Hampton Library in Bridgehampton from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Southampton Democratic Club Breakfast: Thomas Bjurlof, Managing Director at Bruguel Advisors who consults on energy management and regulatory issues for numerous international firms, will speak on "Why Long Island's Energy Model Doesn't Work" at the breakfast at 230 Elm from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets: $21 online at www.shdemclub.com thru 10/30; $25 at the door; $15 youth

BHM Harvest Benefit: The Bridgehampton Museum’s late season cocktail benefit at the historic Galban estate, on Hedges Lane in Sagaponack will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Caroline Doctorow will perform. Tickets: Starting at $50 per person
