100 Things to Do: #75 - Plunge for Hunger

Human Resources of the Hamptons' biggest fundraising event of the year calls for a December dip in the ocean.

In bathing suits, wetsuits, or costumes, each December scores of Southampton residents take a chilling dip in the ocean at to raise money for , which provides food, clothing, medical transportation and other necessities for local families and seniors in need.

The is Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Each plunger must either donate — or collect from their sponsors — $25 or more. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible, and the plunge is follow by the Survivor's Celebration, where free refreshments will be served, including donated coffee, hot chocolate, soup, sandwiches, chili, bagels and hot dogs.
