School News - Week of May 26-30

On Friday, May 2nd, our fourth graders enjoyed a guest speaker from the Shinnecock Nation.  Ms. Elizabeth Hale visited the fourth grade to speak about Native American culture.  Ms. Hale presented artifacts, told stories, and talked about her experiences as a member of the Shinnecock people.  The presentation was arranged through the Parrish Art Museum’s program with Tuckahoe.  Tuckahoe’s Pre-K and Kindergarten classes will be helping to expand our school garden.  Students will be planting pumpkin seeds provided by Tuckahoe’s Superintendent, Mr. Chris Dyer, into the new pumpkin patch on Wednesday, May 28th and Thursday, May 29th at 10:05 AM.  They will see first-hand the growth and development of pumpkin plants and come back in September to see a HUGE surprise!!  This year’s Tuckahoe PTO/Scholastic Spring Book Fair will be on Wednesday, May 28th, Thursday, May 29th and Friday, May 30th at 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium.  It's a “BUY ONE GET ONE FREE” sale on all books and items!!  Tuckahoe’s National Junior Honor Society Ceremony will be celebrated on Thursday, May 29th at 1:30 p.m.  Our Special Guest Speaker this year will be Deputy Supervisor of the Town of Southampton, Mr. Francis Zappone.  Our Seventh Grade 2014-15 Inductees are:  Carly Cenzoprano; Jordan Corwith; Charles Enne; Craig “C.J.” Ferrantino; Sophia Guillo; Caitlyn Kirshy; Jillian Kolarik; Isabella Lenihan; Jackson Marcincuk; Connor Rozzi; Lucca Vignoli.  Congratulations seventh graders!
