School News - Week of Jan 27-31

Tuckahoe's eighth grade social studies students just finished the Stock Market game.  Ben Taraku, Jordan Klinge, Julianna Farnam, and Brooke Llewellyn earned the highest returns.  Profitable investments included Pandora and Google.  Tuckahoe’s Student Council is sponsoring a “SOUPER BOWL” Food Drive from January 15th to February 3rd.  Please donate a non-perishable food item.  Suggested items include soup and other canned goods.  A collection box is located in the front hallway of the school.  Donate canned soups to your team choice!  Will the Broncos win or the Seahawks?  All donations will go the local food pantry.  English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for adults will be held on Mondays and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. at Tuckahoe School.  The first began on Monday, January 13th.  All are welcome!  National Wear Red Day will be celebrated on Friday, Feb 7th in support of the 10th Annual American Heart Association's awareness of women's heart disease.  Donate your spare change to the AHA cause!  A CPR course for our Middle School students will be held on Thursday, February 13th from 2:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Tuckahoe School Library.  Permission slips are available and should be returned by Wednesday, February 5th.  There is no cost for the course.  Tuckahoe’s Student Council will be paying for all of the materials and the Southampton Ambulance will be doing the training course.
