Fourth Grade Native American Trip

Tuckahoe’s fourth grade visited the Shinnecock Nation Cultural Center and Museum, on Monday, November 25th.  After a guided tour of artifacts and murals in the museum, students explored typical Shinnecock shelters and transportation in the Wikun Village.  The fourth grade held a Native American Celebration to showcase their studies of the Iroquois People.  Their interdisciplinary research was conducted in the areas of English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Art.  Students exhibited dream catchers, longhouses, shields, and other artifacts completed in Art, and displayed power points on their tablets.
