Bettina Pennon-Dowtin Plays Mama in 'Mama, I Want To Sing: The Next Generation'

30th anniversary season.

On this Saturday, March 23, at the Dempsey Theater in Harlem, Long Island's own Bettina Pennon-Dowtin will be playing the role of Mama in "Mama, I Want To Sing: The Next Generation" for the 30th Anniversary Celebration.

Bettina has been playing the role of Mama going on three seasons. This anointed vocalist has released another CD project titled "The Grateful Experience." She is not only in "Mama, I Want To Sing: The Next Generation," she is also in the hit off Broadway musical "Sing Harlem, Sing."

Bettina has one of the strongest performance backgrounds I have ever seen in my entire life. In 2005 she took home first place at the McDonald's Gospelfest in the Soloist Category. In the early '90s she was on the Bobby Jones Gospel Television Show. She has been part of many choirs including FAW Celebration Choir & Shekinah Choir where she served as President of the Music Department of the Emmanuel District for the Church of God In Christ Inc.,
