Some say, Main Beach, others say Cooper's Beach then there are the Indian Wells believers, not to mention the Louse Point faithful, all believing their beach choice is best. How can you argue with them, all of those beaches are phenomenal. But my favorite place to swim in the Hampton's is off my 22' sailboat where ever I throw that anchor. Last year I fancied, off Sammy's Beach and off Louse Point. Or maybe off busy Crescent Beach on Shelter Island where the Sunset Beach resort/restaurant/bar is. I just love that cool water feel as I slip down the ladder into the cleanest clearest water I can find that day while riding the winds. I love it! And there is very little sand to wipe off while I dry back on the boat. I do use Sperry water shoes so when i walk about on the bottom in shallow water I do not cut the bottom of my feet on the whatever's of the bay floor. This year I am planing to visit Louse Point, Albert's landing, Sammy's Beach, Maidstone Beach, Crescent Beach, Orient Point State Park, along with a few unknown unnamed spots. It is what vacation time, down time, free time is all about. Plus the waters in the Hampton's are quite frankly the clearest, most pristine anywhere. On a sunny day the bay between Gardiner's Island and Louse Point/Gerard Drive looks like the Bahama's and the water is as warm yet so satisfying
