NYC Arresting, HAND CUFFING, Alec Baldwin a Disgrace

      Arresting and hand cuffing any citizen for riding his bike on the wrong side of the street is a disgrace. Order is needed in a city to promote safety. However, the authorities must use their authority wisely. No one man is above the law in todays world, however if the man is not carrying a gun, not high on drugs, and is riding a bike on the wrong side of the road, professional police work should not end up with the CITIZEN being arrested.

      Many people in East Hampton have different opinions of Alec Baldwin, whose generosity to the Town is well noted. I have personally seen him baited by certain tabloids. I watched before an event I covered at Guild Hall as someone with a huge camera said crude and inflammatory things inches from his face to get a story. I am amazed that goes unreported too often. The picture included in this story is one I took just before what i said happened. That time others moved the individual away and nothing notable happened. That is Alec Baldwin's world. I think of him as a very typical Longislander , but one who at times is too much a "smart Alec."  On the other hand, he also cares about things and puts a lot of money out there to help others.

      I believe we all have moments that we wish we behave better, used different phrases or said nothing at all. Alec Baldwin is in the news again, not for donating money, not for saying something insensitive about minorities while upset, but because he rode a bicycle on the wrong side of a NYC road without identification. Really?
