Chris Nuzzi is in a real battle with incumbent Jay Schneiderman for a Suffolk County Legislature position. Nuzzi surprised me by not running for Southampton Town Supervisor two years ago and again this election cycle. Nuzzi, a Republican stalwart has always been a huge vote getter due to his direct, honest, no nonsense style which quite frankly is almost the opposite of his opponent Jay Schneiderman who is extremely popular for his diligent work for the district and loosie goosie style of local politics. This will be a real battle and make no mistake about these two men who don't know what losing an election feels like will campaign hard, and one of them will lose. From covering both men I will say that they are both smart with acute political acumen. An expert local political figure said that Schneiderman has the edge, but added never underestimate Chris Nuzzi's ability to connect with voters and get the vote out. I believe this race will come down to debate performance head to head and be won in the tightest race for the county legislature. The question will be, Can Chris Nuzzi win, can he take out the popular incumbent, I am curious to see how these two political warriors take on each other after years of being political friends.
