Sustainable Southampton Town Why You Should Be Involved

We have written that it is the right of the citizens to choose best practices to sustain the environment of Southampton Town.  We have also given you a sketch of how Southampton 400+ Sustainability Element was hatched.  Now that we are faced with the impending implications of this plan let us look at why you should care. Remember we are for positive environmental action that we as citizens are responsible to implement.  We have some town board members that are absolutely committed to this plan.  The Sustainability Committee  is responsible for this plan and have the exclusive attention of the board. They are diverse group of local citizens that share a common vision.  Some are politically to the extreme left of the common sense values of Southampton citizens who believe that you are responsible for the degradation of Southampton,(what degradation?). Others are motivated by the transformation of your hamlets, villages and local landscape through construction of high density housing within your hamlet.  This bodes well for those who represent the builders, realtors and  green builders who still are profiting from high end estate construction yet favor cluster housing where you live.
And still others are environmental activists that believe humans should be segregated from open spaces, whose vision is superior to your wants and dreams.  The lives you live are not sustainable and if through regulation they can save Southampton and corral you into predetermined behavior you will be happy knowing that  forced communal  equity has eradicated differences within our town, can we say "The Southampton Collective".  We have seen this utopian vision fail consistently throughout history such as the Soviet Union. Aren't  you concerned by the Federal Governments overreach into your lives? well Southampton 400+ is the local equivalent.  We are asking you to download via any search engine by putting in Southampton 400+ Sustainability Element and if you are really ambitious there is an appendix.  We have read it numerous times and we believe we have targeted those action items that are not is our best interests,
The town board needs to hear from you as they have ignored our questions that they requested in April.  We gave them 23 questions and to date have received no answers.  In May the board asked us to supply questions to them, well what happened to our elected officials responding to questions already asked?  It is outrageous to disregard citizens initiatives.   Finally there will be a Town Board meeting Tuesday June 25th at 6:00 pm plan to be there and ask a question.
Our next submission to this blog will be specific with items found in the plan and also some science that should help create reasonable doubt for the basis of this progressive UN inspired environmental document.
