Last Chance: 'Rock the Dock' Is Saturday

Annual Bay Street Theatre benefit on the Long Wharf brings out the stars.

Chris Bauer, Fisher Stevens, Liev Schreiber, Naomi Watts, Richard Kind and Blythe Danner were among the celebrities to attend the "Rock the Dock" benefit for in 2011, and this Saturday many stars are expected to come out to the Long Wharf once again.

Past attendees of the annual gala include Alan Alda, Julie Andrews, Lauren Bacall, Alec Baldwin, Joy Behar, Mel Brooks, Kim Cattrall, Chevy Chase, Kelsey Grammer, Billy Joel, Nathan Lane, Susan Lucci and Rosie O'Donnell, among other actors, musicians and filmmakers.

Rock the Dock is Bay Street's biggest benefit of the year, supporting the Mainstage productions in the summer months and educational initiatives year round, including Literature Live, college internships, theater camps and kids' classes.

“Not only is it our biggest fundraiser of the year, but it is also the best party of the summer in my humble opinion," said Bay Street artistic director Murphy Davis.

The evening includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, silent auction, live auction and music and entertainment. Tony Award-winner Lillias White, who stars as Maybelle Smith in Bay Street's upcoming world premiere of "Big Maybelle: Soul of the Blues," is scheduled to perform, then the dance floor will open with DJ Andrea Shapiro.

The live auction offers a week-long trip to St. Barts at a Wimco Villaes three-bedroom luxary resort home, a four-night trip to Four Seasons Resort in Costa Rica, Broadway tickets with backstage tours, and a visit to the "Today Show" with a meet-and-greet with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. For local fun, several rounds of golf at will be on auction.

There is also a raffle, with tickets available now, for a 2012 Mini Cooper convertible — or $18,000 cash. Tickets are $100 each and only 500 will be sold.

Rock the Dock begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the , and festive attire is requested. Tickets are $550 per person, $5,500 for a table of 10, $10,000 for a VIP table of 10, or $3,850 for a lounge.
