Hamptons Agenda: Sandy Benefit, Relay for Life & More

Springs F.D. has its annual prime rib dinner, teens work to raise some cash for summer camps and artists' exhibitions kick off.

With warm temperature coming in, Patch has the places to be this weekend, May 31 to June 2, around the Hamptons. Whether it’s art, music, a play or something else that piques your interest, we’ve got you covered.

What will you be doing to welcome the summer weather?

MONTAUK

Home Canning Seminar: Mark Vosburg, named a certified master food preserver by Cornell Cooperative Extension, will speak Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. about safe food handling and pressure canning methods.

Navy Seal Foundation Fundraiser: Navy Beach will host its annual fundraiser to benefit the Navy Seal Foundation, which supports personnel, their spouses and children. Saturday’s fundraiser will take place from 4 to 6 p.m., including a cocktail party for a cost of $35.

Films for Sandy Benefit: This fundraiser hosted by Solé East will include a series of short films curated by Brooklyn-based SMASH Production. From 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, The Backyard Restaurant will provide a barbecue. Cost is $40.

EAST HAMPTON

The Cripple of Inishmaan: Catch this Martin McDonagh comedy directed by Stephen Hamilton at Guild Hall this weekend. Tickets run from $10 for students to $30 for general admission.

SPRINGS

The Business of Art: This four-part seminar hosted by Jane Martin will start on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Springs Presbyterian Church, with classes coming the following few Saturdays. Courses focus on selling and making money off art.

Prime Rib Dinner: The Springs F.D. is hosting its annual prime rib dinner Sunday at 2 p.m. for $27 a plate.

BRIDGEHAMPTON

Relay for Life: Cancer fundraiser kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at the Bridgehampton School on Montauk Highway.

From Pastures to Putting: This exhibition at the Bridgehampton Museum will look back at the development of golf in greater Bridgehampton, with original equipment, fashions and more.

SOUTHAMPTON

Opening Reception: This exhibition of sculpture by Bill Stewart and photography by Ann Fristoe Stewart will take place at 4 North Main in the village from 6 to 8 p.m.

Gospel Jubilee: Local choirs will perform at the First Baptist Church of Southampton Friday night at 7 to celebrate the church choir’s anniversary.

QUOGUE

Artists’ Reception: Quogue resident Donna Levy’s ‘Visions in Color’ kicks off Saturday afternoon at the Quogue Library from 2:30 to 4:30.


HAMPTON BAYS

Professional Rugby Tourney: Members of the Southampton Dragons – the newest team in the American National Rugby League – kick off their season hosting a tournament at Hampton Bays High School. Drop by starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Teen Camp Fundraising Day: Need your car washed? Some baked goods? Or household items? Drop by this all-around fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Assembly of God Church on Ponquogue Avenue to help teens raise funds for their summer camps.

Beautification Association Garden Party: The Hampton Bays Beautification Association is holding its garden party and famous Chinese auction on Saturday at Cowfish, from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $40.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH

Aaron Neville: The longtime R&B artist makes his way to Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $70 to $90.
