With warm temperatures expected this Memorial Day weekend, many residents and visitors are heading for the beach.
All Southampton Town bathing beaches will have lifeguards on duty this weekend, including , , and , as well as Southampton Village's , ranked this week by National Geographic Traveler as the .
When beaches are open, town lifeguards will be on duty from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Village lifeguards will be on duty from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Coopers Beach. No other village-owned beaches include lifeguard protection.
Lifeguards will begin weekday service starting June 25 on both Coopers Beach and town beaches. On Suffolk County beaches, it begins June 16.
