Lady Whalers Bring Home Long Island Championshp

Pierson-Bridgehampton team wins game 3-2 on Wednesday.

The Pierson-Bridgehampton field hockey team got a huge welcome home on Wednesday evening after capturing the Long Island Class C Championship with a 3-2 win over the Carle Place Lady Frogs.

In a match up at Dowling College on Wednesday afternoon, Katherine Matthers scored the game-winning goal, according to The Sag Harbor Express. Kasey Gilbride also put away two goals.

The girls received an escort with lights and sirens from the Bridgehampton Fire Department, Sag Harbor Fire Department, and Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corps, which led a parade down Main Street, where family and friends were lined up to cheer on the team.
