Hamptons Squash Open Attracts Nationally Ranked Players

Southampton Youth Services hosts inaugural event.

hosted the inaugural Hamptons Open Squash Tournament June 17-19 at the the Elmaleh-Stanton Squash Center. The tournament was sanctioned by U.S. Squash for National Ranking points and entrants included players from the East End, New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Baltimore and New Jersey, who competed in three simultaneous events – Adult skill-level, Junior Silver, and Hardball Doubles Open and Mixed draws.

The Hamptons Open attracted nationally ranked players of all ages as well as new host and squash director Mike Weston from New Zealand. Squash in the Hamptons events continue August 11-14 with the second annual Hamptons Squash Week, including a WISPA World Tour Women’s Open, the fifth annual Sotheby’s Junior Open, and the second annual Elmaleh Cup Hardball Pro Doubles & Adult Skill-Level Singles Tournament.
