Hampton Classic Show Ring to Be Named for Aspinall

Celebration of Anne Aspinall's life planned in May.

The organizers of the Hampton Classic Horse Show will honor one of their own by renaming a ring at the annual showjumping event in Bridgehampton in her memory.

, a leading figure at the and a founding board member of the Hampton Classic, succumbed to cancer in February. In her memory, the feature hunter ring will now be called the Anne Aspinall Ring.

Additionally, on Sunday, May 20, at 4 p.m., a celebration of Aspinall's life is planned at the Topping Riding Club hunt field in Sagaponack.

"Anne’s friends and all those whose lives she touched are invited to join in celebrating her many accomplishments and contributions," reads a Hampton Classic statement.

"Anne was one of the original founders of the Hampton Classic in 1976 and was a leading figure in Long Island’s hunter-jumper industry for more than three decades," said Dennis Suskind, the president of the Hampton Classic Board of Directors. "She served on our board and executive committee since day one and played a leading role in the lives of many."

Suskind said that renaming the hunter ring for Aspinall is a fitting way to continue her association with the Hampton Classic.
