Full “Fish Moon” Hike

A full “Fish Moon” hike will be led by Dai Dayton, the president of Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt. Did you know the first full moon in April was named the “Fish Moon” by coastal Native American tribes because it coincided with the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn? That's according to the South Fork Natural History Museum, which will teach more about it on the hike, which is leisurely paced for one-hour hike in Vineyard Field behind the museum. Hot cider and donuts will be served after.

Reservations are required. There is no charge for SoFo members, but non-members are $7 per adult, $5 per child 12 to 3 years of age, 2 and under are free.
