Southampton High School Seeks Local Businesses to Partner with Senior Year Project

Southampton High School is looking for local businesses to partner with the Senior Year Project as partners/mentors must be willing to show students the various aspects of their business.

In an effort to make the senior year stand out from previous years, seniors are required to complete the Senior Year Project.  The project spans the entire year, during which students are encouraged to choose a topic or field of interest to research and to engage in field work experiences.  The hope is that the Senior Year Project will promote enthusiasm and curiosity by tapping into something that individual students are passionate about, while preparing them for college and the workplace.

One of the objectives for internships is to have the students become actively involved in our local community.  This experience could take many forms, including working side by side or working independently under a mentor’s direction.  Students are expected to experience at least thirty hours of hands-on learning, with the ultimate goal of college and career readiness in mind.

It is important that it is a learning experience that helps them to better understand that field.
