Thursday, August 8th:

  • Music Together By The Dunes, 25 pond Lane, Southampton.  Looking for a nurturing environment where your child can learn basic music competence through play. Singing! Dancing! Rhythm Play!   • Sag Harbor Volunteer Fire Department Carnival, Heaven's Beach, Sag Harbor on Bay Street, Sag Harbor. Rides, food and fun!  Sponsored by the Sag Harbor Volunteer Fire Dept.  August 6 through 10.  Fireworks Friday night. Families. 5:00 p.m.
  • Marine Park Concert, Marine Park on Bay Street, Sag Harbor. TUMI, The North and South American band will perform rhythmic indigenous music using a unique mix of both modern and traditional instruments. Families. 7:00 p.m. 
  • Montauk Farmer Market On The Green, 724 Montauk Highway.  Families. 9:00a.m.-1:00 p.m.
  • Riverhead Farmers' Market, Village lot on River behind Main Street, west of Long Island Aquarium. Families. 11:00 a.m.-4;00 p.m. (Also On Saturdays)
  • Kids Bake Challah, 17 Woods Lane, East Hampton. We invite all children, parents, and grandparents to join in the fun of Challah making! Braid and bake your very own challah for Shabbat!   • Rogers Memorial Library, 91 Coopers Farm Road, Southampton. "Fun In The Sun" Share stories, songs and rhymes along with hands on explorations and creative play. "Laptime Stories" enjoy stories, songs, finger-plays and movement which all help to stimulate your child’s language, auditory, and motor skill development and promote a love of books.  Registration is required, call 631.283.0774, ext, 4.   • Rogers Memorial Library, 91 Coopers Farm Road, Southampton. "Discover History Mysteries" Uncover the mysteries behind these historic figures, events, and legends. August 8: Gold Rush. Registration is required, call 631.283.0774, ext. 4. Entering Grades 2nd-5th. 3:30 p.m.
  • Rogers Memorial Library, 91 Coopers Farm Road, Southampton. "Forensic Archeology" How much do your bones reveal about you? Participants team up as Forensic Specialists using real human bones as props. Teams are briefed about the mysteries in bones and challenged to examine them for clues. Specific facts about bones are presented and teams will hypothesize a person’s age, gender and possible demise. Registration is required, call 631.283.0774, ext. 4. Entering Grades 4th-5th Grades.  5:00 p.m.
  • Hampton Library, 2478 Main Street, Bridgehampton.  "Rhyme Time" Join us for songs, rhymes, stories and art exploration. Ages 1-3 years Old.  10:00 a.m. (weekly)
  • Hampton Library, 2478 Main Street, Bridgehampton. "Lego Mania!" Create anything you like with Legos at the library! This is a great chance for parents to relax and socialize, too. Ages 4+. 3:30 p.m. (weekly)
  • John Jermain Memorial Library, 34 West Water Street, Sag Harbor. "Songs, Stories & Play Time" Read a short story, do finger plays, sing songs and nursery rhymes, dance with the children, then put out toys for playtime. No Registration Necessary. Ages 1-4 Years Old. 10:30 a.m.
  • John Jermain Memorial Library, 34 West Water Street, Sag Harbor. "Youth Art: Beach Into Art!" During these fun summer workshops, Raimondo brings an amazing beach collection to your library. Become aware of some of the fascinating creatures that live on the beach by looking at shells and other natural items you can find on the shore. Then make imaginative faces, animals, and more out of seashells, rocks, and other fun beach stuff. Registration is required, call 631.725.0049.  Ages 6+. 3:30 p.m.
