Saturday, August 10th:

  • Hampton's Mamas Lemonade/Cupcake Sale, 237 Main Street (In Front of Astro's Pizza and Felice's Ristorante), Amagansett.Come by for some lemonade, cupcakes, kiddies giveaways, advertiser business cards and sidewalk painting! Lemonade and Cupcakes .50 cents per cup/cupcake.  Each .50 cents spent kiddies can pick a giveaway from our amazing goodies! Lemonade and cupcake money will be donated to East Hampton Arf. And of course go into Astro's for a great slice of their delish pizza (or you might be lucky enough to win a slice!) Families.  11:30 a.m.
  • Sag Harbor Volunteer Fire Department Carnival, Heaven's Beach, Sag Harbor on Bay Street, Sag Harbor. Rides, food and fun!  Sponsored by the Sag Harbor Volunteer Fire Dept. Families. 5:00 p.m.
  • South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo), 377Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton."THE BUZZ ABOUT CICADAS, AND A CICADA SEARCH" Elias Bonaros, MD. Dr. Bonaros is a cardiologist and an amateur entomologist, specializing in cicadas. In this rare opportunity to learn from someone who has spent years studying these harmless, flying, plant-feeding insects, most famous for their powerful “singing”, Elias will bring you up-to-date about the current brood (Brood II) on the East Coast (but not in our area), the cicadas species that are found on Long Island, and the cicadas life cycle. You’ll view these insects up close and learn to recognize what they leave behind when they grow and molt. After the talk, we’ll go out in the field to listen for and, with a bit of luck, find some lively examples. Participants must call (631) 537-9735 for reservations and information about meeting places. There is no charge for SoFo members. Non-members are charged $7 per adult, $5 per child 12 - 3 years of age, 2 and under free. Fees include admission to the museum on the day of the program. "Birders: The Central Park Effect" A Documentary About Birds and People Produced and Directed by Jeffrey Kimball If you are a birder in our tri-state area, you will probably recognize friends! “Birders: The Central Park Effect reveals the extraordinary array of wild birds who grace Manhattan’s celebrated patch of green and the equally colorful, full-of-attitude New Yorkers who schedule their lives around the rhythms of migration. Acclaimed author Jonathan Franzen, an idiosyncratic trombone technician, a charming fashion-averse teenager, and a bird-tour leader who’s recorded every sighting she’s made since the 1940s are among the film’s cast of characters.   • John Jermain Memorial Library, 34 West Water Street, Sag Harbor. "Barbie Club" We will have an ample supply of clothes and dolls for boys and girls to play with. No Registration Required. Ages 3-9 Years Old. 10:30 a.m.
  • Amagansett Library, 215 Main Street, Amagansett. "Dig That Beat Story and Craft Time" read books with rhythm and make a drum. Join us each Saturday for stories and a craft. Families. 3:30 p.m.
  • Westhampton Library, 7 Library Avenue, Westhampton Beach. "Very Hungry Saturdays" Drop into the Idea Place on Saturday or Sunday during Library Hours and create a caterpillar themed project.(Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11-Very Hungry Tissue Paper - Also on Sundays) No Registration Required. All Ages.

"Sun Days Solar Surprises" Tyler Armstrong, South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo) Nature Educator. All of the summer’s heat comes from the sun; instead of avoiding it, let’s use it to help us! Come learn how to use the sun’s energy to boil water, roast a marshmallow, or even fly a hot air balloon. Join us at SoFo for some fun in the sun; see solar energy demonstrations and enjoy some solar-powered refreshments while we explore the many ways that simple inventions can give us access to clean, free energy. There is a $3 materials fee.   • Southampton Farmers' Market, 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton. Families. 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
  • Rogers Memorial Library, 91 Coopers Farm Road, Southampton.  "Ice Cream Sunday" This program is geared towards preschool children-age 7, siblings are welcome) Come hear some cool stories on a hot day while creating your own Ice Cream Sundae. This program is not recommended for children with food allergies. Registration is required, call 631.283.0774, ext. 4. Families. 2:00 p.m.
  • East Hampton LibraryOff Library Site, 36 James Lane, East Hampton (Gardiner Farm) "Children's Fair" The Children's Fair features wonderful carnival rides and games, a book fair with children’s book authors signing their books, a raffle with terrific prizes, book-themed crafts, performers, community information booths, and delicious treats. And, as always, this wonderful family event will be free to all who attend. The Children's Fair is free through the generosity of individuals and businesses. There are several levels of sponsorship available for the 2013 Fair. Please donate to insure the Children's Fair remains a wonderful success. Families. 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
  • John Jermain Memorial Library, 34 West Water Street, Sag Harbor. "Sunday Games" After a day at the beach get away from TV and other screens and challenge your friends or family to a friendly board game competition. We’ll provide a variety of games including Chutes & Ladders, Candy Land, Apples to Apples and others. All you have to do is come and have fun! No Registration Required. Ages 3-9 Years Old. 3:30 p.m.
  • Westhampton Library, 7 Library Avenue, Westhampton Beach. "Very Hungry Sundays" Drop into the Idea Place on  Sunday during Library Hours and create a caterpillar themed project (Project: Very Hungry Tissue Paper). No Registration Required. All Ages.

Hamptons Mamas Lemonade Sale!
August 10th at 11:30 a.m.
Location: 237 Main Street, Amagansett 

Come by for some lemonade and cupcakes! The best part is children will be helping out with the lemonade/cupcake sale! All lemonade and cupcake money will be donated to East Hampton Arf.  

Cost: .50 cents per lemonade cup and .50 cents per cupcake. Each .50 cents spent child(ren) can take a giveaway!  We have some great ones too, Tea Party Lollipops, Squirts Guns, Beach Balls, Frisbees and much more.  Along with sidewalk painting and bubbles!  Business cards of great children programs will also be handed out to parents!
