South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo) - "Birding for Beginners - Hawk Migration"

Saturday, September 7 at 10:00am

For Adults and Children ages 12 and older

In late summer and early fall, hundreds of thousands of hawks, eagles, ospreys, and falcons withdraw from their breeding grounds across North America and move to their wintering grounds, some as far away as southern South America. On this walk along the eastern shore of Napeague Harbor in Amagansett, we will search for some of these birds of prey as they search for food over the dune, swale, and shoreline. With any luck, we will see Northern Harriers, Ospreys, Kestrels, Peregrine Falcons and perhaps even a Bald Eagle. Bring your binoculars, scopes, and field guide to Birds of Eastern North America, if you have one. To make a reservation for this program, please call the museum at 631-537-9735
