Voters Approve $1.6 Million Budget in Sagaponack

Wilford re-elected to school board.

District voters approved a and 2.1 percent rise in the tax levy Tuesday by a 49-5 vote, with four abstentions.

The new tax rate will be $0.48 per $1,000 of assessed property value, up 2.2 percent. For a home valued at $1 million, school property taxes will be $478.

Incumbent , running unopposed, was elected to a new three-year term on the school board with 40 votes.  There were 16 write-in votes for Patrick Guarino, a Sagaponack Village Board trustee.

Voting took place at the Sagaponack School between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
