As the Southampton Writers Conference returns to the — formerly Southampton College — campus for its 36th summer, it brings with it two major additions: conferences in .
At a press conference Thursday morning in the former radio lounge at the campus, Robert Reeves, the director of the M.F.A. in Creative Writing and Literature program; Nick Mangano, the artistic director and chair of the Stony Brook University Theatre Arts Department; and Mitchell Kriegman of , a visiting writer for the M.F.A. program; explained the motivation behind extablishing the new conferences and what the aims of the programs are.
